Electricity
Today we did experiments with electricity. We did things with lemons
where we made an LED light turn on. What we did is we used lemons,
alligator clips, 4 10 cents and nails. we connected them
all up and then we made the lemons into a circle and when
we were finished we made the LED light turn on.
The lemons had a slit in them so we could slide all
of the 10 cent coins into the slits then on the other
side put a nail . When we finished with putting
the nails on the side we got an alligator clip and
clipped them onto the 10 cents. When we were
finished clipping them on we got the tip of the
alligator tip and connected it to the nail.
After we made a circle the LED light started to glow.

makerspace
Last Friday we did a makerspace today I am
showing you the steps to make corn. First you need
a popcorn seed then you need some dirt after you get a
wet paper towel and a plastic bag. Then putting the wet
towel on the dirt then put the seedling on it. After 10 days
the seedling will start growing and growing after a few weeks it
will turn into corn. Last week for the makerspace my group made
a salad with feta, lettuce, tomato, avocado, silver beet, celery and carrot.

The Juicie challenge
In our class we did a project. The project was that we had to try and insulate our juicy so it does not melt when it goes outside. My juicie was 50/50 because it was half ice and half juice. My juicie melted because black attracts sun and tin foil doesn't.

Project Energize
All terms we had Gina from Energize come to talk to us about healthy food and not so good food. There were 4 different food categories, meat, dairy, fruits and vegetables and grains. On the last day of Gina being here we made hummus. If you eat fat chips it doesn't absorb as much oil as the skinny chips. Did you know that fizzy drinks aren't so good for you? You should only have them once a week. The best option for you is water or milk.

Adele Broadbent
Kia ora everyone. Adele Broadbent came to Paihia School to tell us about books. She told us that she was an author and that she would tell us how to publish. Also how to get the beginning and end right. Last of all how to get our ideas in the middle of the story. She also read one of her books. It was a really cool book.
