Superb Dot Plots

\

My Writing: In Te Ngahere we have been learning about dot plots. A dot plot is a sort of graph we have been learning about. I learnt that dot plots are a type of graph and is often used to mark how far something is. In the worksheet there were two classes competing in throwing a tennis ball. Room one’s dot plot was already made and we had to make a dot plot similar to room ones for room two’s results. It wasn’t very hard but wasn’t easy, we had to create the dot plot from scratch and had to use how far room two threw to make the dot plot.

In my DLO for the dot plot I didn’t explain it as good as the teachers DLO and it wasn’t very clear compared to the teachers DLO. I got very confused while explaining the true or false statements and didn’t quite understand. I think I could have explained a lot better than how I explained in my DLO and how I put down on my presentation my work. I liked doing the dot plot DLO, have you ever done a dot plot before?

Terrific Marble Ramp

In Te Ngahere we have been doing marble runs. We had to make instructions for different people to run our ramp. We did this to prepare for the Science fair. We also had to make our ramp make the marble stop at 110 cm. I thought that my group and I didn’t do our instructions very clear and it didn’t quite go through to the people who were testing it. I also thought we could have done our ramp more stable so it can hold its own weight. I also thought that we could have improved our ramps height and how long the ramp was. I enjoyed watching our ramp doing its thing and watching it to see what I could improve. Have you ever made a marble ramp before?

Terrific Science Show.

In Te Ngahere we have been learning all about science. We were lucky enough to go to Bay of Islands College to learn all about science. At first we all had to sit down and we had  people from the show-show us different gases like nitrogen, oxygen, nitrogen monoxide and other gases. I learned that if you rub your hands together and then put it on aluminium, copper or steel it will form electricity   after you touch the pads, it will make the scale go up. We did this because we were learning about different variables, and science. I loved going to this  show and it very informational. I hope we go on this show again. Have you ever been to the Science Roadshow before

Cool Tech

In Te Ngahere the year 6 students went to Project Island Song while we went to technology. We did technology at Moerewa School, and the year sevens did cooking while the year eights did woodwork. I am a year seven and we made apple sponge with ice cream, we didn’t make the ice cream but we made the apple sponge. We started off by doing a quiz and gluing some sheets in our book before we cooked anything, then we had to fill in 2 sheets about cooking and what our expectations are before starting. We then had to peel apples, chop them and then put them to a boil. After that we were making a mixture of butter, sugar, one egg and flour. We also had an option to put chocolate chips too and we all added it in. It was super fun and it tasted so great, I will definitely trying it again. Have you made apple sponge before?

Different Online Relationships.

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about online relationships, and how to keep safe with your online relationships. We are learning this because there are many things that can go wrong with a relationship online, such as: getting groomed, pedophiles and catfishing. They also can lead to being kidnapped. I think what I could do better online is make my captions of my post better and make it cyber safe for other readers to read by making it  swearing free and positive. I thought this interaction on how we have been learning about this has such a good impact on me because I can learn, and maybe save myself from possibly getting catfished or groomed by someone. Have you ever done something bad online before?

Cool Ocean Drawings

In Te Ngahere we have been doing ocean arts of fish with other living creatures that are aquatic. The point of this was to get confident with using google drawings more and to practice using the tools more with line colour too. The easy part I found was making the fish and other aquatic things, but the hard part was grouping them together because I didn't know how to group them together. We used auto shapes to make the fish and lining tools. I enjoyed this activity really fun. Have you tried this before?
